Common questions

How do I install Bantri?

Open Bantri in the Shopify App Store and press Install. Shopify asks you to approve the app’s permissions, then opens Bantri inside your Shopify Admin, where setup starts. You never type a password or your store’s address.

How am I billed?

Through Shopify, on your regular Shopify bill. You pick Launch, Grow or Scale, monthly or yearly, on Shopify’s plan page inside the app, and you can change or cancel your plan from inside the app at any time. There are no success fees: we take 0% of your sales. Current prices are on the pricing page.

How do I choose which products appear in my app?

Bantri adds a sales channel called Bantri to your Shopify Admin. Publish products to it the same way you publish to any other channel. Products you do not publish to Bantri do not appear in your app.

Which accounts do I need to publish to the App Store and Google Play?

Your app is published under your own name, so it needs your own developer accounts: an Apple Developer Program membership for the App Store, and a Google Play Console account for Google Play. Apple charges a yearly membership fee and Google a one-time registration fee, paid to them directly. A company enrolling with Apple also needs a D-U-N-S number, which can take time to get, so start early. You add us to both accounts, send a build request from the app, and we build your app and submit it. Approval and its timing are Apple’s and Google’s decision, not ours.

Do I need a new app-store release every time I change something?

No. Changes you make in the App Designer reach your customers in seconds, with no app-store release. A new build is needed only for things stored in the app itself, such as its name or icon.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Shopify stops billing for Bantri, and 48 hours after you uninstall it asks us to erase your store’s data. We delete everything the Bantri app holds about your store within 30 days of that request. Your app listing stays in your own Apple and Google accounts; if you want your app to keep running or to move elsewhere, email us before you uninstall. The details are in our privacy policy.

How are my customers' privacy requests handled?

Shopify passes them to us automatically. When one of your customers asks for their data, we send you what we hold about them; when their data is to be erased, we delete what we hold that is linked to them. Both within 30 days.
